Instructor: Michael Russell

Michael Russell began his Bujinkan training under Shidoshi Trey Willmott in March 1998.  Mike studied under Trey for 10 years, passing his Go Dan (5th degree) Black Belt test and receiving his Shidoshi Menkyo (Teaching License)  in November 2006.  After continuing as an instructor in Trey's classes for two more years, Michael was relocated to the Madison, Wisconsin area in February 2008.  The Bujinkan Madison Dojo is now affiliated with Trey's school the Bujinkan Lexington Dojo, in Lexington KY.  Michael continues to make annual trips to Japan to further his knowledge and to train with Hatsumi Soke and the Japanese Shihan.

In addition to training Michael enjoys studying the Japanese language in his free time.  He is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves camping, fishing, skiing, boating, and pretty much anything that takes him outside.  Additionally, Michael loves to read and travel and always strives to bring a positive attitude to everything he involves himself in.
